A Good Idea
Description
MatchBridge, a joint project of the United Way of the Bay Area and the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth, and their Families, is a program that assists youth in obtaining entry-level jobs. This program targets youth ages 16-24 living in San Francisco, California.
Youth who participate in MatchBridge have access to weekly job clinics where staff and volunteers help them gain skills in composing successful job applications, interviewing, and writing resumes and cover letters. Participants are also trained in professional work habits and customer service skills.

Goal / Mission
The goal of MatchBridge is to diversify the future's workforce and reduce poverty by helping youth develop the skills that they need to secure employment.
Results / Accomplishments
Since 2005, MatchBridge has succeeded in connecting over 1,000 young adults to entry-level jobs, career counseling, professional development opportunities, and internships.
