Cook Like a Chef is a day camp run by Penn State University that teaches children aged 11-13 healthy cooking and eating habits. The week-long camp includes activities such as learning about different fruits and vegetables and how to prepare them, exploring different seasonings and spices, basic cooking techniques, and games and physical activities that encourage a healthy lifestyle. The camp culminates with a reception that the campers plan and cater for their families and guests. The program offers scholarships from SNAP for those campers that need financial assistance.

Goal / Mission

The goal of Cook Like a Chef is to teach children aged 11-13 about healthy cooking and eating habits.

Results / Accomplishments

The program teaches children basic cooking skills which helps them to become more independent, and also educates them about healthy foods and eating habits. It also exposes children to a variety of ethnic cuisines and fosters enjoyment and interest in cooking.
